5th grade field trip to the City Museum!

It appears the timing of severe weather will again affect dismissal today. Due to the uncertainty of the exact arrival time the following plans are in place:
- As of now, we plan to dismiss school at the regular time (3:00 pm). If we are getting severe weather at the exact time of dismissal, we may choose to hold students and buses until that severe weather cell clears the immediate area.
- As parents and guardians, if you have concerns about waiting until the regular dismissal time, you are always welcome to pick up your child or children early from school. Please enter the cafeteria to sign out your student at the special “sign out” station.
Please stay safe and have a great weekend!

Due to the possibility of extreme weather this afternoon, the PTA has decided to cancel LEGO Club today.

Our voicemail for absences/after-school changes is down. If you have left a voicemail Tuesday, May 13, please reach out and speak with someone in the office. You can also email schoolsecretary@avistonk-8.org We are working on getting this resolved ASAP - sorry for the inconvenience!

Congratulations to our 🌟 GENUINE 🌟 Students of the Month! Being genuine means being honest, kind, & true to yourself or others - something these students show every day. Whether it's lending a hand, speaking kindly, or showing respect, they lead with their hearts and make our school a better place. 💛💙
Also, Eagle Squad day happened to fall on Mr. Gary Day - so yes, those outfits are intentional & amazing. Please appreciate the photos accordingly. 🤣

Yesterday we gave a big THANK YOU to our amazing lunch ladies—because they deserve all the love (and then some)!
Our students are loving the new menu options, but the OG favorites like Salisbury steak and country fried chicken still hold a special place on their trays—and in their hearts.
From festive decorations to cheerful “Have a good day!” wishes, you make lunchtime the best time.
We celebrated a little early since tomorrow’s a half-day—but the appreciation lasts all year long! 🩷🍎

Reminder:

Today we celebrated three incredible women who are truly the heart of our school. 💛
Danielle – You’re the warm welcome at the front desk, the gentle nurse for every scraped knee and upset tummy, and the steady hand that keeps our school running smoothly. Your care, compassion, and multitasking magic make a world of difference every single day.
Kelsey –You bring our school to life as our state data coordinator, IAR testing lead, social media manager, and in-house designer for all things print and visual — your creativity and precision bring so much to our school. You keep us organized, informed, and looking our best!
Megan – You balance every budget, manage all the numbers behind the scenes, and make sure everything adds up. Your attention to detail makes everything easier for the rest of us.
We are so lucky to have you. Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
