I was born on July 2nd in the 70's at Scott
AFB here in Illinois. My dad was in the Air Force, so we moved to
several places throughout my life. Besides living in O'Fallon and
Belleville, I have lived in Kansas City, MO; Clovis, NM; and Honolulu, HI.
In 1994, my dad retired from the Air Force, and my family settled in
Belleville.
I attended two
elementary schools, one intermediate school, and two high schools in my
educational career. I graduated from Belleville East High School in
Belleville, IL. I then attended Belleville Area College (now SWIC)
where I received my Associate's degree. Following BAC, I attended
Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. I received my Bachelor
of Science in Elementary Education in 1996.
My first teaching
job was at St. John Neumann Catholic School in Maryville, IL. I taught
K-8 Spanish and P.E. After teaching there for two years, I took a job
in Freeburg at the Jr. High. I taught 7th Grade Spanish and Literature
for seven years. This is my seventh year here at Aviston Elementary,
and I love it!
My husband,
Craig, and I moved to Aviston in the summer of 2002 with our two children,
Bailey and Caleb. Our third child, Maris, was born in October of 2006.
I love our town and our school. I am very
proud to be a part of such a great community.
