1st Quarter -  We will be reading the novel
The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.
Students will be given a study guide that covers several chapters.  We will read each chapter together.  Students will then complete the study guide for that chapter and write a journal response.  When the study guide is complete, there will be a test over the chapters covered.  Grades this quarter will come from study guide and journal grades, tests, and AR.

2nd Quarter - We will be using the Literature book.
We will read various stories of various genres. After each story, there will be questions to answer and a written test. During this quarter, grades will come from homework, class work, tests, and AR.

3rd Quarter -  We will be reading the novel
The House of Dies Drear by Virginia Hamilton.
Students will be given a study guide that covers several chapters.  We will read each chapter together.  Students will then complete the study guide for that chapter and write a journal response.  When the study guide is complete, there will be a test over the chapters covered.  Grades this quarter will come from study guide and journal grades, tests, and AR.
