We will discuss Current Events each day in class.  Students will be assigned specific days to bring in a current event.  On the last day of the school week, there will be a Current Events Quiz over items discussed in class.

We will also work out of the Social Studies textbook.  Topics covered this year include:

For each chapter covered, there will be vocabulary terms, homework sheets, class work, and map work.  At the end of the chapter, there will be a chapter test which will
include the map for the chapter.

Grades each quarter will come from homework, class work, Current Events tests, chapter tests, and any projects worked on during the quarter.  For example, during 4th Quarter, each student will be preparing a Power Point presentation after doing research on a famous world destination.  Students will be given a list to choose from at a later date.
