Task
You and your partner are going to be working cooperatively together to make some new discoveries about rocks. The first thing you need to do is print off the Rock Data Discovery Sheet so that you have a place to record your findings.
These are the steps to follow to complete your quest.
1. Make new discoveries about igneous rocks.
2. Make new discoveries about sedimentary rocks.
3. Make new discoveries about metamorphic rocks.
4. After completing the sheet, take a shot at the Name That Rock game. Write your answers on the back of your data sheet and record your score.
5. Your final project is to make a sculpture of your favorite igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock out of clay. The rocks must have all of the features of those groups and must look like the actual product. The class will be trying to guess what kind of rock each one is.
