Welcome to First Grade.

There are 40 students in first grade this year. Nineteen of them are in Mrs. Marie Niemeyer's class and the other twenty-one  are in Mrs. Stacy Lampe's class.  Mrs. Niemeyer's class has 14 boys and 5girls. Even though the class is split, we still do many activities together.  We have lunch, recess, PE, and Music together. School begins each day with morning announcements at 8:20.We have a morning milk break at 9:15. Our lunch begins at 11:10. Our afternoon classes begin at 11:50. Dismissal is at 3:00. We are lucky to have Miss Tiffany Becker here the first semester as our student teacher.

We are so excited about learning.  Our daily activities consist of Calendar time, Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, P.E.. Art and recess.

Some of our other favorite weekly activities are  Art, Computers, Music, Story time and Library.

Mrs. Jenny Mondt teaches Music to the first grade twice each week

Mr. Jesse Essenprise teaches P.E. each afternoon.

All the other subjects are taught by Mrs. Niemeyer

Accelerated Reading: This is a new activity for the first grade. We take books home to read or have someone read to us. Then we take tests on the books using the computer. This helps build comprehension skills. Points are earned by answering the questions correctly. Students can earn many prizes during the year.  A list of tests taken and points earned by each student will be sent home each quarter with the report card.
