Extra credit may be earned in the following subjects...
Social Studies
All students have
an opportunity to earn 5 bonus points in social studies each week.
He/She needs to share a current event...it may be a newspaper or magazine
clipping or a written summary of a current news event heard on TV or the
radio. Students need to
report to the class with an oral summary to earn credit.
Math
Correctly solve the problem
of the week to earn 5 bonus points. The solution and solution process
must be written out in a step by step method. Problems can be found on the web site under the
math icon.
Spelling
One spelling bonus word worth 5 bonus points is given on each
weekly test.
Science
Complete an
experiment in front of the class to earn 10 bonus points. The
experiment must relate to the unit we are studying at that time.
Experiments can be found in the textbook, library or on the internet.

English
To earn 15 points, students may
write a 5 paragraph essay. The essay may be persuasive, narrative or
expository with a topic of choice. There must be an outline or web
turned in with the paper to earn all points.
Reading
A written book
report presented to the class is worth 15 bonus points. The oral
presentation must last no more than three minutes and
contain some visual aid(s) to display in the classroom or library.....props,
puppets, character attire, poster, chart..... The written portion must
be written with complete thoughts and in complete sentences. It should
summarize the story in a sequential fashion.
