Summer Schedule

(please note - only those students that were in 5-7 grade of the 08-09 school year are required to participate in the 2 parades in June.  4th grade is invited to attend, but is not required)

Dear Parents and Students,

CONGRATULATIONS!!  Summer is finally here!  You made it.  One more year of school down and you can finally rest and kick back and enjoy your summer….almost!  J

  Below you will find all the information necessary for our last 2 band commitments for the 08-09 school year.  As you know, being in the band sometimes means there are summer performances, and this year is no different.

  Also, if your son/daughter will be absent from these parades (with an acceptable excuse; i.e. sickness, death in family, family vacation.) please email me at the address above.

  SATURDAY June 13^th – New Baden June Jamboree Parade

2:00pm Arrive at AGS

2:15pm             Quick rehearsal to dust off Salute to America.  We will start inside to make sure everyone still has it memorized and then go outside and set up a parade block.  You do NOT have to be in uniform for this rehearsal.

  3:15pm            Rehearsal ends – change into uniform DRINK LOTS OF WATER!

3:30pm(ish)      Might be closer to 4:00pm        Depart for New Baden

4:15pm             Arrive at New Baden– We will be lining up behind Hempens Funeral Home in New Baden

5:00pm             Parade start

6:00pm(ish)      Parade end – Students may ride home with parents from parade.  I will have a sign out sheet at the end of the parade.

6:20pm(ish)      Arrive back at AGS

  Once the parade starts, the times above may not be exact.  Please be flexible with picking up your child at school.

SUNDAY June 14^th – Bartelson Quasquicentennial (125^th) Parade

  11:30am           Report time at AGS – In FULL band uniform.  We will not be rehearsing before this parade.

11:45am(ish)    Depart for parade

1:00pm             Parade Start

2:00pm(ish)      Parade end

2:30pm(ish)      return to AGS

JUNE 22 – 26 (ALL BAND STUDENTS REQUIRED TO ATTEND!)

Band Camp with Mrs. Mondt!  All students are to attend.

MONDAY July 13^th – Clinton County Fair Parade
