The 2008 Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee was held Monday, February 4th, in the Aviston gym.  71 5th-8th graders participated in the 2008 Spelling Bee.  Mrs. Kampwerth was the moderator and Mrs. Toeben & Mrs. Lager were the official judges.  The bee took about 1 1/2  hours as over 150 words were spelled before Mike Martz correctly spelled "wreckage" to win the contest.  Runners up were Emily Bruce and Adam Strubhart, 7th graders.  They moved on to the regional bee held Saturday, March 15th in Breese.

1st: Angela Witte, 8th gr. (3rd in Regionals)
2nd: Batiesha Boeker, 8th gr.
3rd: Travis Holtgrave, 6th gr.
