Hello! My name is Amanda Koch and I am excited to be back in my hometown working at Aviston Elementary. At Aviston I am a primary level resource teacher and work with our new language program titled ALLSTARS. I am looking forward to a productive and exciting school year as I work to meet the needs of all students.

I am a 2003 graduate of Mater Dei High School and a 2008 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. While at Southeast I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. With this degree I studied both elementary education and special education. I have earned both certificates in Illinois and Missouri.

I am a 2nd year teacher at Aviston Elementary with a positive outlook who works to help all children be successful. During the 2008/2009 school year I taught Gifted education part-time at Shiloh District 85. I was also a substitute teacher in Shiloh and O’Fallon District 90. This gave me the chance to meet lots of people, work with a variety of students, and broaden my teaching experience in many ways.

Currently I live in Fairview Heights, Illinois with my fiance. We have a Boston Terrier named Chance and he keeps us very busy! I have an amazing family and love playing with my 2 nieces and 2 nephews. I enjoy keeping busy but some of my favorite things to do include: exercising, shopping, riding horses, playing sand volleyball, participating in any outdoor activities, motorcycle riding, traveling, reading, and hanging out with friends.
