My name is Shelley Kenow. I am originally from Carlyle, but have lived in Albers for the last 9 years. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Kevin, for 19 years. We have one amazing child and a very lovable dog. I received my teaching degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in December of 2002, was a substitute for 2 years, taught in Albers 1 year and this is my sixth year at Aviston. I was a teacher’s aide for 10 years before finishing my teaching degree. My husband and I were youth group leaders in Alconbury, England for 3 years while we lived there. I have been a Sunday School teacher, church nursery worker and have volunteered for the Special Olympics, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, St. Louis Christian Academy, and Earith Country Day School, Earith, England. I am the Volunteer Coordinator for Chakota Therapeutic Riding Center and volunteer with the Clinton County Humane Society. I believe that children, like flowers, will blossom when given love, attention, nurturing, and individual care. I agree with William Shakespeare, that while we know what we are now, we don't know what we will become. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you have enjoyed it. |
