My name is Derek Bardill, and I am the Physical
Education teacher at Aviston Grade School. I was born in Breese and raised
in near by Highland. In 2003, I graduated from
Highland High School
where I played football, wrestling, and ice hockey. I played 1 year of
collegiate ice hockey at Southern
Illinois University Edwardsville where I also
graduated, with a Bachelor degree in May of 2007. I currently live in Highland and have one brother, Jeremy. My parents, Mike and Brenda Bardill also currently live in Highland. In my spare time I play roller hockey in Breese, and slow pitch softball in Pierron. I also follow the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals, and Rams very closely. I love the outdoors and enjoy hunting, camping, and fishing whenever possible. I was never the most naturally gifted athlete, but with a lot of hard work I was able to become a successful member of several teams involved in various sports. I understand that not every student can walk on to any athletic field and be immediately successful. I do however, expect that each student will provide their best effort each day to learn the rules and technical skills that are a part of the activities presented in class. My goal is to see each student improve their skills as each class progresses and to provide them with the necessary knowledge, motivation, and skill to participate in various activities outside of class. |
